Sinopsis:

The Children of Huang Shi narra la historia real del joven periodista inglés George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), que llega a China en los años 30 cuando el país está siendo tomado por las tropas japonesas. Hogg se libra de la muerte gracias a un líder de la resistencia china, Jack Chen (Chow Yun Fat) y, en su huida, acaba refugiándose en el orfanato de Huang Shi. Con el ejército japonés cada vez más cerca, Hogg intenta salvar a los sesenta niños del orfanato embarcándoles en un agotador viaje a través de montañas y desiertos, acompañados por Jack y una enfermera norteamericana (Radha Mitchell). Por el camino descubrirán el verdadero significado del amor, la responsabilidad y el valor.

In war-torn 1930's China, a young English journalist, an American nurse and the leader of a Chinese partisan group who meet in desperate and unexpected circumstances. Together they rescue 60-orphaned, children leading them on an extraordinary journey, across hundreds of miles of treacherous terrain, through snow-covered mountains and an unforgiving desert. Along the way they discover the true meaning of love, responsibility and courage.
