Adaptación al cine de la novela del Afgano-americano Khaled Hosseini 'Cometas en el cielo', que en 2005 fue uno de los libros más vendidos del año en USA. La historia se centra en como Amir (Khalid Abdalla) -el cual dejó Afganistan muchos años atrás-, vuelve para descubrir que su mejor amigo, Hassan, está muerto, y que su hijo necesita ayuda para escapar de los talibanes.
